Bio: Sue Grimshaw is Editor At Large and Category Specialist at Random House Ballantine Bantam Dell. Sue is working primarily with the digital end of the business thus learning how to ride the waves of the changes that are ongoing of late in the romance industry. Until last April, she was the romance book buyer for Borders and Waldenbooks stores for ten years. A highly sought after expert in her field,
Sue Grimshaw is frequently consulted by publishers, and over the years has been honored to speak to thousands of romance writers and readers at conferences and workshops. In 2008 she received the prestigious Vivian Stephens Industry Award from the Romance Writers of America. Other honors include the Inaugural Orange County Chapter of RWA, 2008 Helping Hand Industry Award , 2007 & 2005 Colorado Romance Writers of America bookseller of the year award, and the 2005 Romance Times Book Club appreciation award. A voracious reader of romance, devouring three to five books every week, Sue is one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry and truly enjoys sharing her knowledge of the romance genre.

Nalini Akolekar

Bio: Nalini Akolekar has recently resumed her publishing career after spending several years working in advertising sales. She began her publishing career at Silhouette Books and has more than fifteen years of experience as a freelance editor. In addition to freelancing for companies like Silhouette, Harlequin, Kensington, and Dorchester, she has been a reviewer and done manuscript evaluations for Romantic Times Magazine. Nalini also worked privately with several authors who were struggling to make their first sale, many of whom went on to successfully publish multiple books. Nalini is interested in discovering and developing new talent, and is accepting submissions—from published and unpublished authors—in women’s fiction, romance of every genre, and suspense/thrillers.
Growing up Nalini’s mother frequently would ask her in exasperation, “What are you going to do with your life? All you ever do is read romance novels!” Little did she know that her daughter was building a career for herself, one captivating page at a time. Spencerhill Associates offers Nalini the perfect opportunity to combine and utilize both her editorial instincts and her sales, marketing, and business experience.
